02 civic si backfire
well, I have an '02 Si w/ a short ram intake. I only hear the back fire while in between shifts. Its really only when I give it alittle too much gas while engaging the clutch. It only happens maybe twice a month, though. I hope it doesnt damage anything over time...

backfiring? Like, real backfiring, or just the little popping sound from the muffler?
I mean, if your car is actually backfiring, then something is seriously messed up.

This has happened in my car quite a bit lately. My only engine mod is an Injen SRI. Did anyone figure out the cause?

uhh, the car is running rich or for some reason, it's throwing in too much fuel at a certain point. sure, it prevents detonation, but it robs power when u run too rich.
