Problems starting my car!!
About a month ago, my car started fine until my check engine light came on. Found out it was my "top dead center" sensor inside my distributor. About a week after the light came on I started having trouble starting my car. When I started my car it usually cranked about 2 or 3 times before turning over but now it takes longer to start (cranks about 6 times before turning over). Sometimes, the car wont even crank and it will just making a single clicking noise. All the lights come on but it wont turn over. Is this becuase of the sensor or starter? I thought it was the battery but found out it wasnt. TIA

The single click noise you are hearing is your starter solonoid trying to push over your starter pinion gear and it wont. That sound is a starter problem. As for the TDC, not sure if thats a cam position sensor or crank position sensor.
If you know how, take some jumper leads and bypass the solonoid on the starter and put power directly to the motor and force it to turn over. If this works then you know its the solonoid and you will need a starter. If you dont know how to perform the test just mentioned....dont.
Good luck

The clicking doesnt happen all the time, only once in awhile. Also, would pop starting your car be another solution to bypass the solonoid? The method you just told me about seems a little complicating for me
TIA
