Default Helmet shops in NYC

Want to get a SA helmet but don't know of any places to buy them. I know of motorcycle shops but they only carry M helmets. Thanks Don't want to order b/c want to try on the helmet first.

good luck finding one. NYC is not a friendly place for car enthusiasts looking for serious gear. I doubt any of the shops around here will have what you need, they will prob. tell you they have to order. Try meccanic shop (http://www.meccanicshop.com/index-race.htm) they are in westchester and have an ITR track car and could probably advise you on the proper size helmet if they dont have them in. Otherwise, check somewhere outside the city, like long island.

I have a Bell SA95 (M2 I think) that I used for 1 hour one weekend. I had to buy it since I forgot mine it's a 7-5/8" and white. Email me at smsproducts@carolina.rr.com

Try the eastcoast dealer for OMP. I think he's in Jersey.
http://www.ompusa.com/

They make very good quality melon-buckets out of carbon/Kevlar. Nice and light and not too expensive.

Stay away from M rated helmets. Most tracks will not let you use them as they are not manufactured out of fire retardant materials.
