Not really, I mean if you are gonna race with the 17's you'll be lucky to run a mid to high 15. You aren't gonna hook up with those things. Throw the stocks on and lower the pressure some, that will be better then the 17's. Is your car a stick or automatic?

Even if you just put your stocks up front, you are still going to run slower than if you put on your stocks all the way around. 17's in the back mean bigger, wider wheels which means more rubber on the track and a heavier wheel to move. Which in turn means slower.
If you want to really have some fun and see what your car can do then take an hour or so before you leave for the track and gut your interior. Take out the spare, rear seats, passenger seat, center console, interior door/rear panels, and anything else that is extra weight in your car that doesn't belong there.
A good estimate is for every 50 to 100 lbs. you can run up to a tenth of a second faster.

Yeh exactly, I'd rather run with all my interior in to see what the car does. Just like removing the AC and power steering to get another 1-2 horse power. No thanks. My Fat *** will atleast be cool and able to steer.

I ran a 15.6 in my LS back in the day. I just had a muffler, stock intake and a cheapo header.
Launch it at 3600-4200rpm, take it redline before you shift (and i mean just before fuel cut), and don't take your foot off the gas. Just tap the clutch and speed shift it.
