Default H22 Knock Sensor relocation question...

Hey, does anyone know if the knock sensors on the H22's can be relocated to a different part of the block? Reason is that my knock sensor was broken when the motor came and I didn't notice until after the motor and wiring was done and with it broken and where it sits, it's impossible to take it off. If the sensor is just threaded into the block, couldn't you just relocate the sensor? I've seen it done on some other cars, but I haven't heard of anyone doing it on an H22....

If you remove your oil filter and disconnect the plug, you should be able to use a 27mm deep socket to remove the knock sensor and reinstall a new one. I just did it last night myself.

I actually had several just laying around. If you are wondering if it was used or not, yes it was used.

relocate the knock sensor into the nearest trash recepticle and put a ROM in with it disabled or trick the ECU with a resistor.

the nature of a cheap knock sensor and the way honda implemented them makes them virtually worthless anyway.
