What tie bar with ITR rear sway bar
What are the different types of tie bars that you guys are running with your ITR rear sway bars? Pros and Cons? I was looking at the benen bar, any comments on this? Will it need any special mounts to be compatible with the ITR rear sway bar?THX
There are only two types of lower tie bars. First is the kind that connects the LCA bolts. The second is the Comptech type which connects the subframe inbetween the LCAs.
The tie bar does almost nothing. When you have that sway bar installed you wouldn't notice any difference with the tie bar. The sway bar is all you need. Spend you money on another handling mod like a camber kit and performance alignment.
I agree that the swaybar alone is enough to improve the handling of your car without a tiebar upgrade. In short words, a rear lower tiebar upgrade is a waste of money. A rear strut can stiffen up your chassy and handling more, but you will have to sacrifice some trunk space.
So tiebar:
Invest wisely

i disagree.. on my del sol i put on a neuspeed tie bar and my rear end sliding was instantly more controlled and smooth. before it seemed eratic then it became like a controled fluid motion.
it was only 70 bux for the neuspeed so i say go for it...

I hate to say it guys, but do you think Honda would have put a lower rear tie bar on the ITR if it's worthless. Just something to think about.
everyones opinion is great and all but you guys failed to answer his Q?...
as far as what i have seen the Benen will not fit with out some creativity with some washers...not sure where the post is...other than that i cant help you...i too would like to know what would fit with the itr sway

Thx for all the replies, but i still don't know which tie bar will fit with a ITR rear sway bar. I just read a post about the neuspeed bar causing tearing because it is seated farther away from where its mounted. anyways keep em coming! thx

Benen
Made my turns much smoother and tighter. If you've driven your r swaybar to the point where it starts to feel normal, give the benen a try and you'll notice the difference.
some have fitment issues, others do not. if you do, just use the washers tricks or beaks has a kit for it..basically just spacers and longer bolts. been riding over a year with no problems and the bar looks great from the rear....solid..

The Comptech Bar should fit since it doesn't attach to the LCA bolt like most... which actually makes it the most effective brace.
Lower tie bars just act to stiffen the car's chassis. The same is true for strut braces and other reinforcements. While they do have an effect, don't expect to "feel" a huge difference with chassis stiffening mods unless you have everything including tubular roll cages etc.
Here is my Comptech lower tie... My current suspension setup includes:
Zeal B6 Coilovers
Suspension Techniques 24mm Front Sway-Bar
Suspension Techniques 19mm Rear Sway-Bar
OEM Integra GS-R Front Upper Strut Brace
Carbing Type II Front Upper Strut Brace (3-point)
Carbing Type I Rear Upper Strut Brace
Comptech Rear Lower Tie Bar

Hmm... that's too bad. There might be some last sets left at retailers, but who knows. I'll bet they stopped carrying it since it is such a pain to install.
