Swaping EG dash, how hard?
Ok, I've got that ugly *** blue interior in my 93 CX hatch. I've got a hook up for a black interior out of an EX(seats, dash, etc) for $200 from a wrecked car. Now, my question is, how hard is it to swap dashes? I don't feel like paying a shop to do the work if it won't be that hard. Anyone give me an estimation on this swap? Thanks

The dash he wants is in immaculate condition. Its got the dash, the cluster, the steering wheel, front and rear seats, carpet, everything.
C'mon, I know some of you guys have done the Integra dash swaps, is it a weekend job? Whats gonna be the hard part about it?

im sure that you could drill out the old rivits and put in new ones. this kid at my school had the dash out of his jeep cherokee and was able to put it back in pretty quik. meaning like a day would have it covered no sweat. a good work day if you dont know what you are doing.
Yeah, you can drill out the vin plate rivets, and switch it over to the new dash. I'm also wondering how much work is involved, as my friend got a black dash for his CX, and we're going to switch it out soon. Anyone, anyone....
if its a civic dash out of the same year (92-95) its simple you unbolt the steering wheel and all the crap around it like blinker and light switch. unplug the harness at the fuse box. unbolt side mounts on dash and the center screw behind the clock and its off.
teg dash is a little more work. and you gotta rewire a harness

I havent done this on a EG, but i have on a EF. From a hatch to a CRX dash. It was a pain in my ***, pretty damn tedious. Not that hard to actually pull the dash off, just a pain the *** to put it all back together. Took me a weekend, like maybe 15 hours total, i took my time though. I also cleaned all the parts really well, touched up some stuff.
Come on, anyone know this? I think I'm gonna tackle it no matter what, doesn't look that hard in my Chiltons manual. One last question. Will the back seats from a coupe fit into a hatch? And does anyone know what the exact tools needed to swap dashes will be? I'd be really upset if I get the dash all off and I am missing one tool. Thanks for all the help guys.
