Default b18c1...how much oil.

First off, I would have searched but OIL, is too short of a word to search for.

I just finished my b18c1 swap..I put in four quarts and it seemed low...I have over 4 quarts in now and I'm maybe 1/2 quart high..

What is the amount of oil needed when you do a full change including filter?

Thanks.

3.5-4 Qts man. Pour in 3.5 qts first, turn on the engine for a few seconds. Let the oil settle and recheck your oil level.

i usually put in 4.5, with 4.5 it puts the level at the top dot on the dip stick, then when you start it up and get the oil flowing it usually settles in the middle of the 2 dots on the dip stick. this is on a B18c1

That's what I do. But lately my levels drop pretty good after a while. I gotta put another quart in. I think it's b/c my cam seals are leaking oil, but it could be more. I dunno

Spec calls for 4.2 US Quarts.

I put in 4 quarts, start the car, run to solid idle, shut off, let sit for 5 minutes, check oil level and top off. Works like a charm and sits dead in the center of the two level marks. :D

another trick is to take the valve cover breather hose, and blow on it, this will push a lot of oil out of the system. by doing this i blow a good .5 quarts of oil out that was stuck in the system

i usually put bout 4.5 cuase i tend to hit vtec alot and burns up my oil. if I put 4 and keep going at high rpm's 1-2 week, oil is below 2nd dot.

I used to do that in my old car, until I decided it is probably better for my engine and cheaper to just change the oil with Castrol GTX every 1.5k then change with mobile one every 3 or 4k.
