Dyno runs
I took my car out to a dynojet over in Greensboro this past Saturday, and here's what I got. With my muffler removed I was able to put down 143hp to the wheels. I then went further and removed the air filter and 1/2 the intake piping (less restriction, but sucking more hot air). That allowed me to gain another 2 hp to the wheels, 145hp
. There were fans in the shop to blow air on my car, but it was also 90 degrees out and the car had sat in the sun for a while. I think on a cooler day I would be able to maybe get 150 to the wheels. I think these results are very good for a B17A, since the engine is rated at 160hp at the crank, not to mention that I've got 176,000 miles on the car now. Has anyone else on the board dynoed their B17A, and if so what numbers did you turn out? I'll try to scan my dyno sheet and post it up here on the internet in the next couple of days to get some analysis from you guys.
