need help/advice on engine tune-up work
my license just got suspended, so while im takin the bus around, i wanted to do some replacing of all the major gaskets in the engine. this is for my 90 crx si d16a6.
so far i plan to change:
head gasket w/ d16y8 head gasket
intake/exhaust manifold gasket
water pump
water pump gasket
spark plugs
spark plug wires
distributor gasket
intake manifold to throttle body gasket
coolant flush
timing belt
valve cover gasket
spark plug seals
fuel filter
i think the biggest job will be the head gasket and the timing belt. do any of you have a step by step for the head gasket and timing belt? will i have to reset ignition or cam timing when im done? am i missing any other gaskets or belts that should be replaced? or any other suggestions/ideas?
should i replace the oil pump?
thanks a bunch
p.s. - how should i flush the coolant? is there a way besides draining the coolant out of the radiator, refilling with water, then running the car, then draining again, and repeating this procedure til all that comes out is water? is there a drain hole in the block for the coolant?

do the water pump, water pump o-ring, and timing belt at the same time. actually while you've got it apart, you might want to consider replacing your crank and cam seals. the crank seals (2) are located behind the crank pully, and the other is behind the flywheel.. cam seal (1 for sohc) is behind the cam gear.
when doing the timing belt, yes you'll have to reset cam timing, its not too hard though.
if you're replacing the valve cover gasket, you should set your valve lash.
yes there is a bolt that drains coolant from the block, its on the exhaust side.
if you're taking off your intake manifold, you might want to take off your throttle body and clean it up too, and replace the gasket between them, also clean out the eacv and replace the o-ring.

how do i set valve lash? and where is the eacv located?
edit: is the crank seal near behind the flywheel also called a rear main oil seal? or is that different?

rear main seal is the crank seal, same thing. set the valve lash by taking off the cam cover, and using your feeler gauges to adjust the gap between the cam lobe and valve actuator. you can find the whole procedure in a shop manual, or im sure its been written up online or on honda-tech
