Suspension / Spring Rate Question?
Does anyone know the spring rate of the stock 96 accord coupe springs?
The reason I ask is I am in the process of choosing a new suspension setup, and I am trying to find a handling/comfort level between what I currently have (stiff) and factory.
I am currently riding on KYB AGXs with Skunkworks coilovers (the originals). My set up is 5+ years old and its worn out but still too stiff (harsh) for my driving conditions. I am considering the new Tein Basic Coilover setup.
I ask the original question because of my curent spring rates vs. teins:
Spring / Front Rate / Rear Rate
Honda OEM / ????????? / ????????????
Tein / 6 kgf/mm or 336 lb/in / 5 kgf/mm or 280 lb/in
Skunkworks / 10 kgf/mm or 558lb/in / 8 kgf/mm or 447lb/in (I think)
I'm curious because my current set up is too stiff for my old *** and the average daily driving I do, but the tein's rate seams so much softer than what I'm used to in comparison by the numbers. I could be wrong about the Skunk #s but I'm pretty sure. I still want a sporty ride with a somewhat agressive height. Just curious what the tein #s compare to stock. I've done my research and think the Tein Basic setup is right for me. I'm not worried about damping adjustment of the shocks as along as it's safe to assume the springs are matched to eliminate bounce.
Thanks for any comments.

email from neuspeed a while back on their springrates for 5th gen accords.
Hello,
The SofSport and Sport springs have the same working spring rate which is 260 lb/in up front while the rear is 165 lb/in. The Race is more aggressive at 485 lb/in up front while the rear is 300 lb/in. For further product information, ordering procedures, or a dealer near you, please feel free to give our sales staff a call at (800)423-3623 or (805)388-7171 or you may fax them at (805)388-0030. Thank you for your inquiry!
Best regards,
I called H&R once and they gave me their springrates in terms of % stiffness over stock...but they wouldnt give me specific figures. Now neuspeed and H&R springs are supposed to be the same, so if u call h&r and see if they will tell you the % stiffness over stock, just calculate using the neuspeed springrates.

Thanks for the help SH.
Seeing that the teins are stiffer than the neuspeed sports but softer than the race gives me an idea on how they ride. Seems to fall in where i want.
Anyone elses thoughts?
