Removing Cat Converter.... HELP!!!
Well the downpipe i was sent was wrong, and I was thinking about remving my cat. ANd since the downpipe has hole for O2, I am going to do it. ANyway, I got one screw off my cat, but hte other 2 are RUSTED and VERY VERY VERY TIGHT. I tried breaker bar, but there was simply NO ROOM. ANybody have an Idea? I was thinking about getting an air wrench kit, you think that a 5hp or 2 hp one would work? I would apreciate any help, thank you.....

You would really want an impact wrench. The proper measurement for these would be ft/lbs. I would say that your average 1/2 drive impact wrench should be able to easily remove these bolts. I would say average would be in the 250 - 300 ft/lbs range. If you need a compressor too, bigger is always better, but make sure you look @ the CFM because that's the number that really matters.

For real, don't strip the bolts to a point where you're going to have to cut. Maybe try warming up the car first. Or just take it to a shop for a quickie.

i woudl take it to shop to loosen up, but I cant. I need to install my downpipe from Turbo, but the cat is in the way, So I need to take it off and then take it to muffler shop to get custom job....

I was under the impression it isnt smart to use a torque wrench to undo a bolt.....
