We were there, running our '02 Si in the Bracket 15 class. It didn't go so quickly--ran 16.6s all weekend, where we have run 16.1s at Orlando Speed World--but at least the car was consistent and easy to drive. Our 60-foot times were no worse than before, so maybe the hot and humid air was hurting us. (Or maybe I just suck as a driver.) We'll have some more info on our Web page tomorrow. If only I didn't redlight in the second round....

Yep, white, and thanks for the compliment. You can see the car here, and a drag photo will be posted shortly: http://www.grassrootsmotorspor....html
Okay, a photo from the weekend and a quick write-up have been posted. (Remember, we're autocrossers, not drag racers.) More to come soon, once I finish these stories. Here's a picture of the car in action:

I was there and spoke with you. I also have an Ep3. Car looks good and clean. And you were running consistent, but I was disappointed in your times. You told me you had bolt-ons... So im guessing at least I/h/e. My car went 15.6 stock. What are your 60' times? And what is your mph?
Car has header, intake and exhaust. The 60-foot times were all in the 2.3-second range, and mph was 82 or 83. Honestly, once I ran back to back 16.6's, I didn't try to go any faster, instead working to turn consistent runs.
The car ran faster at night in Orlando (with slower 60-foot times), so I'm wondering how much the heat hurt us. I'm also wondering if the big drag tires were hurting us after the 60-foot mark. Looks like we have more testing to do.

Oh, and I believe Mike King's Civic is doing fine. Check http://www.scca.com for the Ft. Myers results, but I believe he did well. Cool car. (It's actually my old car, but it wasn't nearly that quick when I owned it.)
the 60' arent bad, but your mph is horrid. Prehaps it was the heat. I do congratulate you on your performance. You did well. You say you ran stronger at Orlando? Whats the best et and mph youve pulled in the car. And how many miles do you have? Did you dyno any of the products you put on? Let me know.
did u guys like the event at all? i think it could've been better but then again this bradentucky. the bikini contest- WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? there were chicks in freakin jean shorts, that was a dissapointment. well at least everyone with LHT got a trophy. bert-o i'll pick mine up tomorrow.
Yeah, the slow MPH has me a little concerned, but I think the larger front tires didn't help. (Need to talk to a friend at BFG and see what he thinks.) We ran the car three times at Orlando, but remember it was a lot cooler. Here are the time slips:
run 1: first real run in the car
reaction time: .707
60' time: 2.375
330' time: 6.805
1/8 time: 10.465
mph: 68.08
1000' time: 13.540
1/4 time: 16.151
mph: 86.53
run 2: wheel hop top of first gear
reaction time: .564
60' time: 2.543
330' time: 7.245
1/8 time: 10.969
mph: 67.05
1000' time: 14.087
1/4 time: 16.730
mph: 85.47
run 3: felt quickest, but wasn't
reaction time: .647
60' time: 2.437
330' time: 6.903
1/8 time: 10.567
mph: 67.98
1000' time: 13.650
1/4 time: 16.274
mph: 86.05
These runs were made last fall with 205/50R15 tires up front. At NOPI, we had 225/50R15 drag radials, and honestly, they dwarf our 225/50R15 street tires. They're huge, and the outside diameter/increased drag probably wasn't helping our MPH. I'd like to retest with 205/50R15 drag tires. Other than the tires and camber (-2.5 degrees at Orlando, -1.5 degrees at NOPI), not much else on the car was changed between the two sessions. Car currently has 22,000+ miles, most of them delivered under harsh conditions. I believe our VIN says it's the 18th Si made for 2002.
I thought the event itself was okay, but personally, I'd like to see more racing and less burn-out contests/bikini shows. (Yeah, I'm old.) Waiting for the burn-out contest to end so we could run our first round of eliminations was a bit of a drag.

Burnout contest are gay. The bikini contest I will live with. Most of those girls were wack. But one of them was money, or actually her name was charity, how ironic. Also, I agree with the Bradentucky comment, WEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAW. Not so many cars either. Im used to the Moroso events where there is a million people and racers. But it was nice to go to Tampa for the weekend. Those Orlando times arent horrid. Do you shift right at the rev limiter? Do you have any future mods planned? I know the hondata will make your top end MUCH better. Whats the next event you plan on entering?

that event blow like non other. the bikini contest was a joke, like 2 hot girls and about 15 st. bernards up on the stage. the only cool thing i saw on sat was the supra that ran an 8.9something. His burnout was ******* ridiculous. $25 for that pos event was financial rape.
the turnout for the bradenton event was so bad because NOPI and NHRA decided to schedule events in the same state on the same weekend. most of the big name drag racers were in gainesville.
or it could be that they advertised it as being in tampa when it was really in bradenton. well steve according to mr. bert-o the payout at nopi was more than gainesville and all of the "big name racers" were supposed to be at nopi. but before u say it i know, i know that's according to bert. j/k
