Default Quaife + Un Equal length SI axles = will I have torque steer?

I am about to order a Quaife to install into my ZC tranny. I must use the unequal length SI axles for this to work.

Do you think I will have torque steer even with the Quaife?

Thanks
Bryson

with a zc tranny and a zc IM shaft you can use 90-91 teg axles

NOT with a Quaife.

The Quiafe has input splines of the smaller Si axles. This has been an old topic. There is basiclly no way to utilize the Quaife with the Equal length axles unless you some how machine down the input on the intermediate shaft.

I pretty much have to use SI axles...

Yes...you'll still have it and feel it even with the Quaife.

Do you have a Quaife in D series tranny?
Is the torque steer less to some amount?

I am really thinking about machining the Intermediate shaft now.

I wouldnt even waste my time if i were you,its not THAT bad and to me I think our set-up is stronger because you dont have that Intermediate shaft with its extra connection and support bearing to break.

True. But I'm shooting for around 400whp with my Built ZC, and I dont really want to loose control.

Is your 91 SI boosted? how much power are you running? Driveability?

I won't mind a little torque steer, but then again I would rather drive without it.

Yes its boosted was about 220whp now its 0,all apart but should be running soon with 300+ hopefully.I think your still gonna have torque steering with 400hp no matter what axle set-up you have, only way your gonna drive without it is if you went RWD.

I would think stronger motor mounts and suspension bushing would help control most of the torque steer. Quaife is more about equal traction. If equal traction helps cure torque steer, than the Quaife will help.
BTW, I sell Quaifes for $810 shipped..shameless plug

hey,I know who you can asked,Zex Man on this board and the D series Board,he's got over 410whp on a D and was running DSS stage 3 unequal axles.I've read that he just had DSS make him Stage 5s and i'm pretty sure he still has an unequal set-up.He'll give you a pretty good idea on the control of a 400hp unequal set-up.If you can get his attention.
