Default jrsc and exhaust manifold leak

Could my jrsc be related to a cracked exhaust manifold? I don't know how it could, but I would never have imagined that it could cause a broken throttle cable either. After I found out that it did I thought I'd ask about the manifold problem.

Nothing wrong with my jrsc. I was just suprised when I found out that it caused my throttle cable question. I never would have made that connection, so I thought that it may have something to do with the manifold problem also.

Sorry for the confusion.

What kind of header are you using?

By the way...there is a great JRSC site here: http://www.hostboard.com/cgi-b...f=110 I tell you this because many of the ITR guys are not big fans of the JRSC...

ah.. sorry.. a bit slow this morning..

your cracked exhaust manifold could actually be related to your jrsc.. if there are no flexible pieces in your exhaust, then the weakest point will break.. this is how i broke a catalytic convertr in half on my old JRSC'd Si.. your engine is twisting with more power and probably to a greater degree now, putting more stress on pieces like this one that is now cracked/leaking..

my suggested solution: fix the header, then either put in stiffer motor mounts or place a bit of flex pipe in your exhaust..

To keep the throttle cable from breaking you need to cut away some of the rubber boot that covers the end of the cable. With it on there it gets extended at an odd angle and starts to wear quickly.

As for the bad manifold, give us a clue on the symptoms. Is the idle fluctuating? Do you notice a power loss? Most likely if you have both of those problems you have either a cracked manifold, or more likely the gasket between the blower and the manifold is cracked and leaking. The only reason the manifold would crack is if the support bar underneath the blower wasn't installed right.

Edit: Never mind on the last part, I though you were talking about the intake minifold. Reading ownz me this morning.
