would it be better for me to order a cat-back exhaust system or should i just order a cannister and take it to a muffler shop and get them to make me custom piping? which would give better performance/sound/value

 

i think it would be better to get the complete cat back system, but custom piping is nice also, what cat back or cannister are you looking at

 

the cat back would be better for performance. most likely the piping will be Mandrel Bends which allow for better flow.

when you take it to a muffler shop they dont use mandrel bends and where the pipe is bent the diameter of the pipe is decreased and slows the flow, unless you find a muffler shop that does mandrel bends.

my 2 cents, buy a cat back if its available. i have custom piping only because the cat backs available for 3rd gen preludes are pacesetter and thermal. Pacesetter REALLY REALLY sucks, and the Thermal i cant seem to find.

 

you could always get the muffler separately and buy the mandrel bent custom piping from the member on H-T who sells it.... kteller8 i think?
