Default edelbrock GS-R pro-flo headers into an LS = problems?????? (could use advice!)

Okay, I can get a set of unused edelbrock pro-flo 4-2-1 headers off a friend (gs-r owner) for an amazing price (he's going with jdm 4-1 instead), I went to the edelbrock site, and sure enough there are different part #'s for ls, gs-r, itr. Would I have to get a shop to install the piece (is the cat going to have to be moved, will i need an O2 sensor welded on, etc.). I've never bought an edelbrock piece, and at the moment, I'm debating between DC 4-2-1 and the pro-flo's. Any advice would be great!

Can someone comment on the quality of the edelbrock pro-flo header in general? would it be a better choice than the DC 4-2-1???

The Edelbrock header is a nice piece! I saw someone dyno test the Edelbrock GSR header and it made 9 whp on a stock engine. I think they only ran it against the DC 4-1 header, which only made about 4-5 whp. I personally feel the Edelbrock 4-2-1 header doesn't get much press.

As far as fitting it in your car.....I don't know. I don't know whats different between an LS and GSR.

as far as I know, it should bolt up fine to the motor and bracket. Your problem will possibly be in length (this all depends on what gsr year your buddy's header was for). I think at worse you'll have to change the length (cut about 6"??) on your b-pipe (the pipe from the cat to the muffler).

I'm speaking from experience and research of doing a ITR to 95 gsr header swap. Maybe someone who did the exact same thing you are asking for can give you some more info. As I recall from my head, 00-01 gsr header should bolt right up?

not a fan of dc header's... the ceramic ones tend to crack.....plus you dont produce as much power.. let use kno what you do...

the problem like stated earilier will be the length... the gsr uses a longer cat from 94-99 i belive then 00+ uses the same length. the headers on itr and ls engines are longer than the gsr ones so you should be good with installing a gsr cat...
