Default Code 71,72,73,74 "misefire"

Since I installed my turbo kit I get the 71, 72, 73, 74 codes every once in a while. Like every 1-2 days. I always get all four at the same time.

I was thinking maybe its because im still running the stock spark plugs. Or maybe the ECU doesnt like the fact that Im retarding my timing with a MSD BTM?

Im running 6psi of boost on stock internals. Fuel management is a SMC+.

Thanks.

Get some ngk bkr7e plugs and gap them at .030

Does the car run fine with the btm?? Make sure you wired it correctly.

I used to get those codes also...it turned out to be that i needed a valve adjustment tho.

I do not have a FPR.

I have 550cc injectors with a walbro 255lph fuel pump.

that is why. I was throwing random misfire codes too cause the ignition can't burn that much fuel. you are probably sick sick rich. I would guess you are around 60psi at the rail in fuel presure, plus the FPR is goin 1:1 as it sees boost so you have about 65psi of fuel presure at full boost then vtec bumps presure too. I am on 450cc injectors and it was still to rich. you are goin to need a good aftermarket FPR and maybe some smaller injectors unless you plan on bumping boost up

The thing with the o2 is that it outputs voltage to your ecu to control fuel delivery and if that voltage reading is worng your car will run very rich and in result cause the misfires

i had those codes once.... but low compression from blown rings/cracked ring lands will do that to an engine....

do what was suggested... check plugs, timing, sensors... and if you can, a compression test..

Your gonna always have that unless you go standalone, learn to live with it. I did for a good 6 months before I swapped to 5spd and went obd1 at the same time..

Obd1 is amazing, haven't had a single CEL since I converted.. no more misfires or 13's.....

The car is not running so well right now. I will check my plugs and see what going on with that. I tried to add fuel at idle/1.5K like ZIP suggested. It didnt help and the car is running like **** when its not fully warm up.

I notice two funny things with the cels. Now its my check engine light AND my ABS light that flash me the codes. And sometimes it gives me the cels while im driving. The check engine light used to light up. Then I had to check the codes. Now it gives me the codes while im driving!

WTF?

About the Code 13. Should the SMC+ prevent that kind of cels?
