did i get the right ZC?
i got my dohc zc today from hmo and everythings fine and all but i was wondering how to tell what year my motor is...i know that on some motors the last two digits of the year are stamped on the block near the bottom of the dipstick..but theres is no date on mine, i looked everywhere on the front of the block and couldnt find anything. i got the motor in and bolted up to the trans...mounts fit..everything fits..but i need to know if my motor is a 88-91 for ef's or is it possible that its a newer zc from a eg...any help? ..will be greatful.
Thanks

OK...my serial number starts with a 2
In that pic: the date stamp is two little 8's right next to each other.
on my motor theres one big 8 on one side and one big 7 on the other.
so i guess its a 87...does that sound right?
thanks

Yea that sounds right. For some reason Honda decides to stamp their motors one year before they're released. So you've really got an 88 (the ZCs made for 87 CRXs wouldnt fit your 2nd gen). Mine is stamped 89 and it came out of a 90.
