Just bought my first EF
91 STD model, paid 1,600$, body is rust free and no dents. My plan is to have a B16 in there by the end of the summer.
Is there going to be any problems with the shifter and the fact that its a 4 speed, when installing the b16a1? This is the only problem i foresee with the B16 installation, i plan on looking to Hasport for all the linkages, mounts, wiring harness etc. I was researching the b18b vs b16a debate and i decided on the b16a1 because I'm not going turbo and i'm not installing a vtec head on the ls motor, i'm concerned with reliabilty issues. I know it can be reliable with the proper parts and installation, but i dont have the $$$$ for all that. Also, what's the best aftermarket short shifter for the 4g civic?
Thanks in advance

There is not going to be a problem with the shifter. It will work just fine.
The best SS from what people have said around here is the B&M short shifter.
