Default aem or generic

i am debating on whether to get an AEM short ram intake or a generic one. Aem will cost around $200 while the no name one is about $95. which one should i get? i'm worried about the quality of it (obviously) and how it will perform. keep in mind that i have an RSX and is in canadian dollars. Thanks guys.

An intake is a bent pipe with an air filter. You can make one if you wanted to.

Put your money in what you believe in.

Also, look in terms of HP per $, a knock off might not produce the exact numbers, but it'll come very close and cost nearly half or less....

So true... Dont go for cheap knockoffs... that dont even spend one cent on testing...Save a couples bucks more and go for the gold you'll be happier with the end result...

Would you really trust a no-name air filter on your car? That's one of the most important devices to keep your motor in good running condition.

If you do get a generic intake, at least put a quality air filter on it.

I'd rather spend a little extra money on a good quality product, then pay assloads of money later on down the road repairing the damage that was done due to cheap products. Just my opinion.

Aw damn it ! I'm too late to reply. LoL. Anyway I just wanted to say "you get what you pay for". Once I had bought generic brand of coil-oover sleeves because they were really cheap ($98). Once I got them on my EM2 damn they were really bouncy and everytyme I would hit a pothole it would make a loud "thump" sound. After approx 5-6 months of torture I changed to Tein SS Full Coil-Over Kit and damn ryde was sweet. It wasn't bouncy at all although I can feel like every singe bump on the road (this is what you get for having a drop at the lowest setting and with 40 series tires). So yeah since you're going fer AEM, I say cheers !

true true...plus the cheap one looks....cheap.

when you just see it, it looks like it was very easily to break.

Hey if you want an intake kit I heard the Injen kit is best kit hands down with the heat deflector. AEM is just too overprices and if you read TPR Magazine they lost power over Injen kits.

If you are interested in an Injen kit for your RSX just e-mail me at js236@hotmail.com
