Default What is the best intake to get for the money, what one should and can fit the ZC?

I have a filter on the TB ghetto style and I need a real intake for my car now. What intake fits, I assume probably the 88-91 Si intake would work. Also I have a battery in the trunk, so I heard I can run a 92-95 Civic one and it will flow better or something like that. I am looking at AEM because I always here they have good results. Should I get a CAI or Short Ram? It would cost almost $250 for a CAI with that water bypass (which I will need since it rains here a lot). Should I just go for the Short Ram. Are there other ones you would recommend instead? I want to order one tonight so lemme know what you think.

Use a stock Si intake arm/box with a K&N drop-in. Dont use any tubing after the box. This for me flowed the best steadily throughout the powerband. I've been the CAI/short ram road before and this performed the best.

You mean before the box? Since after the box would be the part entering the engine.

I really rather have aftermarket as stock parts are all old and nasty. Plus if I can fit the 92-95 Civic one its like $40 cheaper than the 88-91 ones.

just get one of the ones off of ebay...there's always a cold air intake setup on there for cheap. my buddy got one and its a great copy of an AEM.....with AEM, your just paying for the name. if you dont like the filter on an ebay one, get a k+n cone filter and call it a day

Ef *****, you're running the stock intake box and piping, and you think it flows better? That's odd, because the D16A6 intake piping is so terribly crimped and restrictive... though it's true that a panel filter outflows a cone filter.

What I did was build my own CAI out of 2.5 inch mandrel bent exhaust tubing. Works great, and was cheap!

What my friend did was buy a cold air intake, and cut it in half. So when he wants a cold air intake he just joins the two together securely. When he wants a short ram he just undoes it. I don't think he drives it with the cold air in too much rain because he doesn't believe the by-pass valve is safe, but it takes him only a second to make it a short ram again.

But a 92-95 Civic one should work for me right?
