Default H22 Power Increase

Hey hows everyone doing? I have a 2001 automatic Prelude. The engine is stock as of now. I have around 3 g's to work with and was wondering what were the best things to add to gain the most power. Thanks

Start with an AEM cold air intake, then get hedders and an aftermarket exhaust.

step 1: sell the prelude
Step 2: take 3 g's and money from lude, put towards STI

or the alternative...a 5 speed swap, something your car should have came with stock

I say nitrous all the way. I dont agree with starting out with intake, exhaust, and header. After spending about 1000 on those mods, you will have gained about 7-9whp. If you are gonna do nitrous or boost, dont bother with a CAI, it forces you to bend or cut the opening in your engine bay. You can buy a nitrous kit with accessories for $850, spray a 60 shot and gain about 50-60whp.

I/H/E are probably the most you can do with your A/T. Spending more money just doesn't make sense on an A/T car. If you are considering autocrossing, then use all of the money to get a decent set of coilovers and forget about I/H/E. The car is fast enough for autocross, if you can keep it revving above 5500 RPM.

If u did not pay for an extended warranty, I'd say allocate at least $1500 to doing a tranny swap. Manual is the way to go my friend.

I can point u in the right direction as soon as my swap is done.

Nawzz puts a hell of a lot of stress on the components of your engine within the cumbustion chamber, things heat up like crazy and you run the risk (if spraying too often) of burning rings, valves, etc. it also shortens engine life due to stress.

....as opposed to a super- or turbocharger? Whenever you add more power, you ARE going to stress the engine more. My vote goes to nitrous, or a 5-speed swap.

Dynamic compression ratio. Yah, love it.
Listen, honestly, trade your car in for a 5 speed. Modifying an automatic is an excercise in monetary masturbation; you keep stroking your wallet, but in the end you don't really feel good about it.
