need help with a short shifter for 5th gener
whats the best setup to go with for a short shifter/adapter?? i want the smooth gear shifting like stock but a shorter shift!!! please help!! ???
Cut your shift lever. Its the best option for 4th and 5th gen Ludes. I am doing mine this week. I have heard its a great mod, and can be cheap to do if you have access to the tools needed to cut the new threads.

4bidden makes a true shortshifter (NOT an adapter) for 4th gen. He's working on something for 5th gen.
Cutting an inch or more off of your shifter will probably make it a bit more comfortable but will not really reduce the throw that much, at least not noticeably so.
But if you are set on doing that....

I never realliy thought of cutting the stock setup, let me know how that turns out and how you like it! How much are you cutting off? and will the stock boot and everything still fit ok and not look goofy? Thanks!
