Default Love and hate Type S seats

I have this love and hate relationship with my leather seat (titanium interior). They are awsome and have great support but they are so fragile. I feel like I cant really jump in and out of my cat without ruining the seats. Does anyone feel the same way? Do any of you guys seats show wear? what milage?

dont the seats from the type s have problems with wear if they are not treated well, and another thing since it's leather it probably wont hold up like cloth anyway.

All seats with aggressive bolstering will wear easily.

Just sit down into your seat, rather than sliding your *** across it.

Yeah they wear rather quickly. The only thing i really don't like about them is the fact that they sit you too high up. The seat is too thick, but what honda has low seating stock seats anyways besides the JDM ITR's?

Having hard seats is not necessarily a bad thing either. With a hard seat you feel more of the car and what the suspension is doing on the tarmac.

black suede seats with red stitching would have been the way to go. my leather seats have *** marks from my boney rear end. oh well.

Yea my leather is still holding up fine, but then again I only have 1000 miles on the car.

But it's basically like anything else, if you don't take care of the leather it won't last.

Welcome to the club bro. I too have the titanium interior seats and have hated them for a while. I live in Arizona and it gets hot as hell here, so you can guess they burn in the summer bad. Plus now they are wearing from the sides now after 45k miles on the car. But not to worry, I am currently going to have my entire interior redone in the type R cloth with red stiching. So I will have the black interior with the white car. I was going to go with Recaros, but I got a really good deal for my interior.

And yes, the dealer does have a warrenty more or less on the leather on the seats. The Service manager has to look at it, and it is mainly up to him/her on wheather or not they will cover it. Well good luck bro.

Agreed ! I'm pretty sure that there are some leather protectant solvent out there? Check at your local Kragen, Pep Boys, or any automotive store near you.

at our dealership in austin, tx they said that it wouldn't be covered under warrenty, they referred us to someone that could redye the leather. we have tried to take really good care of the seats by using leather conditionors & all, but the bolsters are wearing & my a__ leaves wierd prints in teh seats(?)

I guess it just depends on what dealership you go to. Like I said it's up to the service manager to decide weather or not they will cover it. I'm just going to get my seats redone and be done with it. No more leather for my ***.. EVER!!!!..

I bet you will be more than satisfied with that route, and it should look unique too, tell us how it goes!

there's a service bulletin out concerning the wear on the seats fellas. "bert-o" should know more about it. i have to talk to the service manager monday to find out if he's gonna honor the warranty and fix my seats... if not i'll be calling acura's main office. stupid service rep told me i should put my seats all the way down before i get into the car if i don't want it to wear. WTF. freakin' tard. they replaced the seat back but not the *** cushion part, instead they gave me some protectant crap that "should eliminate the problem" well... it didn't and i only have the 21k on the car( i only drive it like once or twice a week) anyway not only are the seats becoming a pain in the *** but my shift **** is peeling paint/ no, i don't wear rings. and my freakin' RSX door sill is starting to peel upwards and has a bend in the middle. what the hell, i'm not mini me i don't need to step on the door sill to get into the car. i thought this was a damn acura?? YES i'm venting sorry for any inconveniences

Welcome to the club bro. My seats are starting to crack and my shift **** has peeled a long time ago (3-4 and part of the 5 logo). The seats have been a pain in the *** since day one ( Arizona heat), and when I took that first turn In slide into the shifter. So I'm redoing the seats and getting the type R or s2ooo shift **** and calling it a day. I will be doing the interior soon, I just ordered my Tein Flex, so that was a first. Oh well guys I will keep you guys updated.

Acura should warranty the seats, these things shouldnt start falling apart so quickly..btw I'd stick w/ the ITR shift **** since it comes w/ a shift boot adapter(or I'm assuming your ordering it w/ that) I had the s2k **** on my but i got annoyed w/ the shift boot just like hanging there so I went w/ the ITR w/ the boot adapter and now I'm happy hehe..oh yah, good luck w/ those Teins! You'll love them, I know I did

the other day i called and asked acura if they would swap out the leather seats from the type s for cloth ones. they said it would have to be done aftermarket so it would cost u (as in us). but what i dont get is why? those seats if you think about it are 2grand. cuz the base model with cloth is 19000 and the base with leather is like 21000. so why? kinda gay if u ask me. i think they should make leather the option on any car, not a standard.

Acura of Nashua NH replaced the entire skin on my seat. The original bolster was "chaffed" and looking ragged. Since I'm at 36k miles currently, I suppose I'll be F'd when the new skin chaffes in another 15K miles...
