since this oil gear is steel does that mean your oil temp is gonna go up? Steel gets alot hotter doesnt it?
get the prodrive and never look back.
if there were problems with heating, or failure, or whatever... there wouldn't be this many top racers using them.
The final answer for the day IS:
BUY ONE

I bought it, just in case... this months issue of HCI has about a 15 page story on the Mopar powered drag Neon. if you read the article, they talk about the old oil pump they used to use, and if the engine had a hick-up or misfire it would sometimes shatter the gear... that makes me more confident that my money was well spent.

why the hell would you buy a whole new pump and THEN on top of everything buy a ProDrive gear, the most important part of the pump is the gear, so with a ProDrive gear, it is POINTLESS to buy a whole new pump for the housing alone, just buy new gaskets for it, spend 5 bux

Vilas motors (local shop) i was asking 400 for it but i found out it need agline bored so im asking 300+shipping now
I recalled that this topic has been discussed before in the forced induction forum, and tony1 ( from jotech I think) and some others were all against it. They were saying that prodrive one is more prone to failure than OEM. I also remember that he mentioned that quite a lot of pro racers are using the stock one instead.

really? see i would think steel would heat up alot more causing things to get alot hotter. I dont know for 300 bucks there should be no cons to this.
agreed with 98 lude they all switched back to stock saying that PRODRIVE itself couldnt handle up. so they all switch back to stock . try asking in the drag racing forum and FOrced induction. see what they have to say all bout it
yea my mechanic had to switch over to the pro drive one because at every event he'd break a brand new oem oil pump. his car is a '93 hb that ran 9.40 @ 158mph
