Default da knuckles/hubs bolt on w/o alignment problems on an EF?

Everything I've ever read and heard indicates that they bolt up to an EF with no problem, and it's a common big brake upgrade. However, I have a friend that will remain unnamed that insists DA knuckles will completely screw up my suspension geometry, and i need to get 4g SiR or EX hubs/knuckles. i know the SiR/EX stuff will work obviously, but i'm concerned now about the DA knuckles/hubs. i bought a wrecked 92 gs-r and I was planning on swapping the front and rear brakes along with the motor and stuff.

please respond only if you have direct knowledge on whether this will or will not work. no more speculation.

yes it WILL work and yes it will mess up the geometry of the suspension. it is hardly noticable though. the difference in length of the spindles is minimal. alot of people use this setup and it works well for them, but ideally you would want to use the sir or ex knuckles since they are factory length. hope this helps

Also, if anyone who HAS the DA knuckles needs rotors, I've got BRAND new, out of the box for test fitment only Power Stop cross drilled front rotors for a DA teg.

Also, if anyone needs them, I've got a set of junk yard DA front calipers and stock rotors collecting dust.

Make reasonable offers, I want to keep my stock spindles and get the FastBrakes kit.

Nice thread jack!

I think if you want to get it done right, 90-91 Civic EX sedan knuckles are the way to go. you get the bigger 10.25" brakes? and the suspension geometry is correct. I think with the DA knuckles, you get more negative camber and caster is a lil off. I personally have a set of the 90-91 EX knuckles and they are perfect.. That along with my DA integra rear disc conversion with the EF control arms in the back, my camber/caster is perfectly within specs.

Nice ******** remark!

I was jsut putting information where it could be used. Anyone who HAS the DA spindles will probably look at this thread, and those are the people who might needs some parts.

Why don't they work?

They work fine...just get an alignment to correct the toe and you'll be happy.

I've spent quite a bit of money on my suspension and if the teg knuckles screwed anything up they wouldn't be on there.

You say they don't work, is that from experience or just what you've heard? Raise your hand if you know for sure if they do or don't work. Apparently only one person has claimed actual experience so far in the matter.

(raising hand)
I have them on my 91 CRX HF, and they work great. The only difference between the 2 is that with the DA ones, you're going to have to get an alignment for sure since it's off after the install. After the aligment they will work just fine. I've had them on my CRX for about 8 months now, and I've never had any problems.

I installed the front spindle on my friends 90 HF and they work great especially with the cross drilleds he put on but he also needed an alignment and now it is fine.

excellent. any hub/knuckle swap typically requires a re-alignment, so that's not a huge deal. i just want to know if a normal shop will have any problems aligning an EF with DA knuckles on it? if not, then i'm set!
