Building a B18C1, any opinions or help is appreciated.
i want to build up a B18C1 with an 11:3:1 cr, ITR outer springs, Portflow inner springs, titanium retainers, and skunk2 cams. should this setup be ok for 9000 rpm? what kind of hp & tq numbers do you guys think it would put down?
thanks for any help that's offered up.
and since i'm limited to 5 posts a day
i'll ask this too, has anyone has any experience with the Edelbrock or Skunk2 intake manifolds? thanks again

Probably be fine. The aftermarket pistons you use to raise the CR will probably be lighter too..
Careful tho, that you can maintain AF and not go lean and detonate. Type R is supposedly at 100% on the stock injectors at redline (8400?) -- so at 9000 you could need some attention to the fuel system.
Not sure power wise.. perhaps an extra 10-15 after vtec? (swag) I have almost no basis for the guess, so don't worry.

skunk2 IM
skunk2 II, jun3, or toda c cams w/ valvetrain
head work
good flowing exhaust system (jdm 4-1 header to start off w/)
high comp pistons
if you're feeling ballsy, resleeve it, and throw in 84.5 pistons, that'll make it a 2.0 or so. give you about 200+ hp and 150+ torque

awesome, thanks for actually taking the time to reply
ive always been known as kind of ballsy, so i might throw those 84.5mm pistons in there
thanks again guys.

Several ITR owners are making 200whp on stock injectors.

Here is my setup currently being built....
95 B18C1 block and head
JDM ITR oversized pistons
Full port and polish, 3 angle valve job
Dual valve springs
Titanium retainers
Skunk2 IM
64MM throttle body
270cc injectors
Hondata s200
DC 4-1 header
2.5 in modified collector
exhaust
AEM CAI
2 layer head gasket
Other goodies I have:
ITR tranny w/ lsd
8.8lb ACT flywheel
CR should be around 11:8:1 because of the 2 layer head gasket and machine work and the pistons I am using. Should put down close to 200whp when tuned.
Will let you know how turns out when its done! Peace.....
