ok this just started happening tonight.....i have a eg hatch with a b18b swap. when i put the car in first gear and take off slow (off the line) it feels fine (normal). but if i take off fast it feels like my front right tire is rubbing (only for 2 seconds). it only does this in first gear and only if i go fast from a stop. what do you guys think it could be? please help me out here

car and motor are both 95', and the tranny was replaced 3 weeks before i bought the swap so i dont think thats the problem.

 

i'd say its your wheel bearing in your hub, it may be broken and is making that noise due to the inital friction from a standing start.

the problem with that is i'm not sure you can diagnose it unless you press the hub out, which usually seperates the bearing anyway. you should jack your car up and make sure the axle boots are still secured, and maybe have someone stand outside the car when it happens so you can try to locate the source of the sound.

if you cant find it yourself take it to a shop, if it does turn out to be a bad bearing it is 60$ from honda and it has to be pressed in,

do you have stock mounts??? maybe your belt is rubbing on something when it torques back so much.

 

it only started doing this tonight though me and my gf drove it all day then parked it at her house n took her car to a concert (i dont have a/c n florida is freaking hot!) then we came home n took my car out for a drive and when i started it up at her house n started to go it felt liek my tire hit my fender but it only does it from start in first gear! what kinda shop should check my hub n stuff?

are you showing any signs of tire rub in the wheel well? if not then thats a quick way to rule the tire rubbin out' .. im thinkin motor mounts' my .02 worth

 

Yeah, kinda sounds like a motor mount here too. Then again, it could be a small animal caught up in there

 

yup it was my rear mount, i went after work to my friends house n he found the problem! I wish uc ould of told me that last night it would of calmed me down ty for ur help guys!
