Default Help! spark plug flies out-breaking wire cover...

OK guys need a lil help here.

So for the past couple weeks Ive had what I believed was an exhaust leak...I changed my clutch/flywheel and one of the header bolts got stripped, so it never really went back together properly.

It sounded similar to an air compressor...but a lot more suttle.

Turns out today, I had a loose spark plug.

It started while leaving a stoplight, I leave the spotlight as normal...@about 3k I hear this loud *pop*. and then that shitty *** hiss/pop sound comes back, but 4x as loud...

I immeidiatley shut off the car, and coast to the side of the road.
Pop the hood and see the wire cover (silver part) broken in half, and the #2 cylinder wire hanging out on the valve cover....I check for leaks...none. But I truly thought my motor was fucked...

My girlfriend came and picked me up, and took me to the *family* mechanic. I asked the guy what he thought it could be..he said about a week earlier they had an Accord in w/the same symptoms..He said all that happend was the spark plug was loose....and popped out.

I returned to my car w/a flashlight, and noticed there was no sparkplug in the #2 cylinder . I went to Autozone bought a plug, put it in the car and it started right up....ran perfectly all the way home.

When I got home, I thought I better check the other plugs just to make sure. I removed all wires tightened the plugs and put em back..

While doing this, I noticed that the wire on the cylinder w/the *incident* was missing a rubber "bushing" on the end. (the thing that is larger in Diameter than the rest of the wire.) My main ? is really how important is this part?? It looks more or less just a waterproofing seal to me..

Next I went to start my car to go wash it...and It idled like ****...Almost like a small miss, or Like I had some huge *** subs that were bogging it down.

I removed/check all the wires 3x now...but there is still this small miss. I know the #2 wire is making connection, but it doesn't fill as solid as the other 3. The miss, does however go away at higher rpms..

What do you guys think I should do, or what could the problem be?? Should I just go buy new wires??

TIA

Only thing I can think of is to make sure the surface the plug mates with on the head when you tighten it down is clean. Thats where the plug grounds out, right?

good idea...Ill have to take off the valve cover tommorow and check.

That surface might have gotten all messed up when the sparkplug shot out...I'm really surprised the damn thing was still threaded.
