Default replacing alternator belt

i've searched the archives and only found one topic and it didnt explain it at all.

i need to replace my alternator belt. i guess it's the same procedure for all d series engines. i have a sohc zc, i hope it wont be too different. im just trying to fix the last little things before selling it. i want the buyer to be satisfied.

can anyone give me step by step instructions?

thanks in advance

there is a bracket that the alternater sits on, if you loosen up one of the bolts on the alternater (forgot which one but you will see it) pull the alternator towards you take the belt off and put the new one on and then push the alternator back so the belt is tight and tighten the bolt to torque specs and your done

alrite.. seems pretty simple..
do i have to take out other parts to get to the alternator?

also another question... for the sohc zc, do i use the same size belt as other d series engines?

For my dohc zc there were 2 bolts, one on the slider bracket and another that holds the alt to the engine. Just slightly loosen the one that holds it to the engine and then loosen/remove the slider bolt. Slide alt, drop belt, new belt on, slide back. Hold it as hard as you can while you tighten the bolts. After your done "twist" the belt and it should move no more than 90 degrees (belt was going side to side, shouldnt go more than up and down) hope that made sense, heh.

Edit : for my dohc I used an 88-91 crx belt. # 31110-PM5-305

Wow, old thread but I was still subscribed.
As for the trq, its 17ft for the slider bolt and 33ft on the nut for the through bolt (longer bolt).
