2000 Accord EX automatic trans troubles
The dealer replaced the tranny for me (at about 55k) after I complained of a moaning from the front end. Turns out the bearing in the final drive were shot (or something like that). The car was out of warranty but they claimed they were giving me a freebie on "good will". I was just happy that I didn't have to pay.
About 6 months after I had my tranny replaced I got a letter in the mail from Honda stating that if I paid any money for tranny work I should contact my dealer about reimbursment. I didn't pay so I just ignored the letter.
So here I am about 1 year later (at about 92k) and I think I have the same problem. I am wondering if the tranny they gave me as a replacement had the same problem the first one had because I got it before the actual recall mailing. Maybe they didn't really "fix" the problem until after I got my tranny replacement.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
Does anyone know what Honda replacement tranny warranty rules are?
Thanks,
Walter

your probably right. they just swapped it out before they knew there was a problem with all of them.
you can probably still have it fixed for free.

That's right, 100,000 miles or 7 years.
