No spark>>>>After B16a SWAP<<<<please help????????
I swapped a b16a into my 89 DX CRX. I rewired everything myself, I double checked everything, and I am 99 percent sure that I did everything correctly. The engine turns spins over when I try to start, But I do not have any spark to ignite. What could be the problem? It is driving me ****** crazy, I want to hear the damn thing run already! The only thing that I could think of is that: When wiring dual point to multi point injection, there are four black wires, and a yellow wire. Well the papers that I had to reiwire said to conect yellow wire from the Fuel injector resistor box to the yellow wire on the Driver side Strut tower clip,,,, BUT there are two,,I wired both of them to the boxlike the paper said to... MAybe I was only supposed to wire to one???ANYONE???? The only other cause I could think of is GROUNDS>>> PLEASE HELP OUT IF YOU KNOW WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM<<<Did this happen to anyone before?
How did you check to know your not getting any spark ? Did you pull the spark plugs out and crank the engine over and see nothing ? And have you checked to see if your getting fuel to the engine ? Since you did all the wiring yourself, I'm thinking it has something to do with that.

You told me you were still using the old rotor, try changing that out. Also did you fix your grounds on the valve cover and trans ?
Did a ground test with one of those little light bulb, positive negative contraption deals... I hooked the positive up to the battery, then touched the negative part on to different spots to see If I had a goo ground.. All grounds were good, although I added an extra ground strap as an extra, just inn case....I also changed the old rotor with the new! Still no spark. I found exact pinouts online, and I think I am just going to re-run indiviual wires from the distributer clip, dirrectly into the ECU. This way I will know that they are absolutely correct! I found another problem with my MPFI change over... One of the wires were were hooked up so that it was constantly spraying out when I tried to start up. It was the yellow wire by the Driver Side strut tower clip.... Going to fix in the morning! I was getting way to much gas because of this and I think that is part of the reason why I could not get it started! I will keep you posted......
