Why is the Sh heavier than the S?

It's ATTS (Automatic Torque Transfer System)...It's basically a hydraulic limited-slip differential and yes, that's why it is heavier.
Also, the base prelude from 97-01 is not known as an "s" - it's just the base prelude. If you say "s"- many people will think you are referring to the 4th-gen SOHC Prelude.
