Default Hard work pays off....my new toy...

I think I'm the first in the bay area to have this on a civic coupe...I've seen it on a WRX before. Let me know what you guys think.

it would look cool if it was the same color as the rest of the car.. nice for weight reduction though.

mtk is right, in our opinion it would look better painted, I never really liked how the CF trunks looked like. How much did it cost?

yeah.. i think CF is cool for weight reduction on track cars.. but on street cars, it just looks like unpainted panels.. ya know? plus, i never really saw the need to lose so much weight on the street..

Seems to fit pretty good. Did you purchase that from VIS? I noticed some of those in their booth at the IAS

CF hoods/panels on painted street cars look just as bad as primered hoods/panels on painted street cars (in my opinion of course)

has you guys ever thought that people like doing stuff just because they think it looks nice not because it'll help them be lighter?

yea, it's vis

bought it for about $450 shipped

I didn't get the hood or trunk for weight reduction, it was a way for me to blend my paint because I had my left side repainted and the paint don't match perfectly to the trunk, hood, bumpers, right side

I like the black/blue carbon fiber look rather then matching the color of the car

yeah, im sure we all know there are ricers out there who spend $$$ on useless ugly looking panels.

if you got the trunk because its weight reduction and you actually need weight reduction, ok.

if you get the trunk because you think it looks "bling"....believe me, it really really does not.

so how much weight did you actually save with that trunk? Isn't the trunk piece already light as it is? Just curious.

Looks cool. Never seen it on a civic before.

thanks for all the replies

I'm not sure how much the trunk weights but I know it's at the very least 1/2 of what the stock one weights. That thing takes off when I pop it from inside the car.
