Default Just got a 97 cbr 600 f3

Hey Guys,
just had a few questions, Just bought a 97 cbr 600 f3 for $2500.00 it had some damage to it. the front wheel is bent, and I suspect the forks are bent as well. I estimate I'll put in about a thousand dollars to get it back up in decent condition. did I overspend? also, whats a good place to buy parts online for bikes. I've tried ridegear.com . but, that seemed pointless. also, some suggestions on where to look for insurance. t

Thanks for helping out the newbie.

If you can get it back in decent shape for 1K you did fine. There are not as many choices for getting used part. I don't know about the Seattle area, but here in Cali there are motorcycle wrecking yards. Another good choice is to hang out at a race track. It is common for someone to upgrade thier suspension and possible sell of the original stock stuff. I know you can get wheels this way, I am not so sure about the forks. If the wheel is bent then you are almost guaranteed that the forks are also.

Good luck, and nice choice for a first bike. I wouldn't go putting new plastic on it just yet since you are likely to drop it in the first year anyway.

read up on some of the older threads where people have asked for suggestions about new bike ownership. And take the MSF course ASAP.

thanks jarrad for the suggestions. I don't know of any race tracks in seattle, nor do I plan on racing. Just a rough idea if anyone knows how much does it cost to get forks replaced or fixed?
