body work
I ground out the rust today from the body, but I am left with holes. 3 are about 3 inches or so long by an inch or two wide, and one is 7 inches long and 4 inches wide.
What is the best method for cleaning this up? do i get sheet metal and just rivet it in, or do i have to weld it in?
Also what do people recomend for preparing a body to be painted. What grit sand paper should I sand the car with?
Any advice or websites?
Thanks

You reall should weld in metal panels ie a whlole quarter panel. but you could just weld in metal behind the holes and then use fiberglass filler. Then use a shpaper file and then put regular filler over to smooth it out and use 30 grit then 200 and primer. If you can still see sand paper scratches use a finer grit. But thats about it man
i wouldn't weld in metal regardless what other people say, 3m makes a product called panel bond adhedsive. it is awsome, you can glue a whole 1/4 panel on with just that and no welding. i would glue in some metal and make sure you under coat the bare metal that won't be painted i.e. the underside and wheelwells. as far as prepping it for paint,
if your just gonna spray over existing paint then i would just use 1000 grit and make sure you get all the orange peel out
