Ooops, did I f-up my tranny?
I have a 93 dx civic and I just replaced my drivers side axel cause the cv joint had gone. Well I got the axel in there most of the way but I can't seem to get the inner joint all the way in and I've hammered on it pretty good. The axel is in far enough that I can get the wheel back on and drive it but I don't know if I should. Is it possible that I screwed up something on the inside by trying to hard to get the inner joint in and will driving on it be bad?? I don't think my axel will fall off, but I've been wrong before. Any suggestions?
Hmmm. yeah make sure that axle is in all the way. Get a good feel and make sure its lined up. Sometimes the retainer clip will kinda slide in, although I have never been that lucky.
If not try to pop it in...line it up and give 'er a shove. No that didn't work? Try to hammer it in with a large hammer, protect the threads at the end of the axle!
