Removing old stereo stuff
Im just removing some stuff the old owner had installed. There is a head unit, amp, and disc changer. I want to put a stock stereo I have and sell the other equipment.
I have removed the amp and changer, now i just have to remove the wiring and rewire the new head unit.
I just cannot seem to get the head unit out. I removed the ash tray trim and took out the 2 screws the helms manual shows, but it still wont come out. It is a kenwood unit so is it held in by more than the two?

There is a metal sleeve that surrounds the cd player and secures it to the dash. You need a "key," or two butter knives, or two small flathead screwdrivers to remove it. Remove the trim ring around the radio (the one that comes with it), and you should see what I am talking about. Squeeze the knives between the side of the cd player and the sleeve and it should pop right out.
OK thanks for the help, ill try that. It was such a pain in the *** trying to get under there to look and yesterday I strained my neck so i couldnt do anything.
Thanks for the help, i think i might just bring it to a shop, have them remove it and put in the oem unit. I prolly wouldnt have been able to wire it up ne way.
