SRS light
I removed the front passanger seat to give me room for moving something and noticed the SRS light stayed on when the car is started as expected. When I replaced the seat a few days ago, the light didn't turn off. The connection on the bottom of the seat is in perfect condition and I checked to make sure power was making it to the connection (it is @ 5VDC), the ground pin is good and the seat belt switches are good.
Any ideas what is wrong? Is the SRS light like the Check Engine light in that once it flags a code, it stays lit? Thanks for any help.
By the way, I have a 2000 EX 5sp without leather (no side airbags)

My service manual is sitting on a shelf at my house and I'm visiting family 150 miles away, otherwise I'd solve it myself. Thanks.
jweller posted the following a while back and I have one small correction to make that will screw you up otherwise:
"My good deed for the year, Santy Clause is coming so I'd better be good and kiss *** and maybe he'll bring me a hairdryer to replace my headers
straight outta the helms
Erasing the DTC memory
1)turn ignition switch off
2)connect the scs service connector to the MES connector. Do not use a jumper wire
3)turn igition switch to on
4)The SRS indicator light will come on for about 6 seconds, and then go off. Remove the SCS service connector from the MES connector within 4 seconds after the light comes on
5)The SRS indicator will come on again. Reconnect the SCS service conector to the MES connectoer within 4 seconds after the light comes on.
6)When the SRS indicator light goes off, remove the SCS service connector from the MES connector within 4 seconds.
7)The SRS indicator light will blink 2 times indicating that the memory has been errased
8)turn the ignition switch to off and wait for 10 seconds.
I know what your thinking. WTF is the MES connector? good question. maybe someody with a digi-cam can take a pic and post it. its up under the steering wheel. Above and behind the scan tool connector (where you jumper it to get CEL codes)"
Step #4: You need to wait until the SRS light turns OFF (which does take about 6 seconds), then disconnect your jumper/SCS connector within 4 seconds
Other than that, it worked like a charm.
