Default Broken radiator fan

I think my radiator fan is broken. When I am driving the car the coolant temp is normal and if I let my car just sit and idle for a while the temp will rise. Could this be a possibility? If so, how hard is a replacement and how expensive?

first off, check the connections on the fans and on the block/head....make sure there isn't a loose wire/cut connection/corrosion/etc.

second off, let the car warm up and actually check the temperature of the coolant using a thermometer...you can check it by taking off the radiator cap(when the car is cold!)...this reason for doing this is to make sure your TPS sensor isn't bad.

is your coolant level full?

are you *really* low on oil?

do you fans come on when you turn the A/C on?

how high is your temp gauge going?

check all this stuff first, that'll help narrow down the problem. let us know!!

From my experience the sensor that turns the fan on goes bad before the fan.
