Mystery ZC distributor part?
What is the little cylinder-looking thing on the ZC/88-89 teg distributor? Is it important? It has two wires and is held to the outside of the distributor with one small screw. I had to take mine off cause I screwed up the wiring(long story) so I just bypassed it. Is that ok? It ran normal. It doesn't feel like I messed anything up.
Does anyone have diagram with all of the parts of the distributor listed, like the breakdown when you need to order a part? Acura Carland's parts page says that page is not available. It looks like it is part of the wire harness assy on the dx distributor.
He's talking about the capicator that is on the outside of the distributor and yes I imagine it is important. I actually have a ZC distributor here where the wire broke off at the edge of that capcitor so now it's pretty much unusable, or I could just wire in an equal sized cap but it'd be a pain.
