Attn all people w/ aftermarket ignition
Where the **** did you mount your ignition amp? I tried mounting it on the firewall behind the intake manifold, but after driving for 5 minutes, the thing was sooooo hot...and then I felt my intake manifold and I realized why; the amp was absorbing heat from the manifold as well. I want to mount it inside, but I'm not sure on how to run the wires through the firewall. Any help you guys could give would be helpful; thanks.
lol... this is the only pic i can find where u can vaguely see it... its mounted right next to the battery... to the right of it... basically on it... its the silver sci ignition btw
amp u were saying? if u mean the coil... thats on the bottom left of the picture... on the frame... the redish type thing (its a crane )

If you are referring to the rectangular red box tath is about 8" by 5" by 2", Put it behind teh stereo console, between your gas pedal and the passenger side foot area. If you decide to drill though, be very careful not to drill through stuff on the other side!
I have a msd sci and it has been mounted behind my intake manifold for over a year already with no problems. The blaster coil is ghetto tie wrapped to my abs.
MintyDip got it right, under the passenger seat. No heat, no H2O, no UV sunlight, easy to isolate from vibration, out sight from thieves, protected from physical damage..... The engine compartment is not the place for it, only back yard mechanics that don't know any better mount them near the engine. Have a look at any true racecar that depends on reliable you won't find an ignition amplifier in the engine compartment. You know where mine is!
