Ok, count me in. It is funny, I just posted about the Charlotte dyno day and how we are going to be had pressed to beat them...lol... I almost said beat their meet. Caught it in the final review before I hit post.

Anyway, count me in. I am interested in going and am looking forward to meeting Ross. I still feel bad that I left the dragway and didn't say hello, but I was very upset that they cancelled the night after I waited for 3 hours.

On a good note, I am no longer leaving town for a couple of weeks. Earlier this week I was told I might have to do some traveling for work, but I lucked out and don't have to anymore.

Hey Hyper165 you're not missing much...

Yeah seriously, it sucked being rained out. I was psyched about getting on the strip for the first time and meeting everyone, etc...rain sucks. On a side note, do you guys think that F1 Boston would make a suitable date? I might be entertaining a first-rate bird in the next few weeks and I want to make sure she has a good time.

Hey I just noticed you have a pretty good 1/4 time there. Hopefully I'll make it into the 15's my first time on the track.

I personally have never been there before, but I heard that it is really nice. Aside from the racing a lot of companies use it for special functions so the restaurants and bar in there are supposed to be pretty nice.

On a side note, If anyone is interested I am going to the dragway tomorrow. You can race from 9-5 for only 25.00

I plan on getting there at 9 and racing till about 1 or so.

there is a bar and a restuarant and a pool room and i think they are putting in a game room!!!!

hey if you go do you mind a third wheel??

01R, I definitely want to go with just the fellas a couple times. We should try to get a couple guys from here together and go. I work wed-fri until 5 or so, any other time besides that is good. I asked about the date angle because maybe it's too competitive to take a chick to? Also, are they auto, or do you shift them? she may not know how to drive stick (well).

Guys if you saw her...you'd all crash. Im going to make her wear some baggy clothes and a tinted helmet to avoid some nasty on-track situations Seriously she is incredible. But besides that, is it suitable for taking girls to? Or is it strictly a guy thing?

That is all up to her personality...

The idea is great it kind of sounds like those dates they setup on the Blind Date Show. You know the one where the always do these weird dating ideas.

I would definitely say the idea is original and would be a good conversation starter, but it good go very wrong if she is "too feminine". Personally, If I took my wife she would enjoy herself, but some women are just completely against things of that nature.

They have a dyno at F1 Boston? Or am I just confused again...We should find a way to co-ordinate all these car-related activities (Dyno, dragstrip, getting bent at F1) through some kind of list or something.

She's girly but not to the point of being stupid. She's a tough girl, she likes rollerblading and hiking, so we'll see. I think she can handle it. Ditto on the "Blind Date" thing, I was thinking that too. But this sounds better than swallowing swords and petting zoos.

thats it you started it, you had to say and i quote "she is incredible." mike, eric and i will be there with bells on!!!!!!!!

pppssssttttt: pick you guys up at 8???

Hey fellas,

I'm just so happy that my GG is back on the road, I'll prob be down for dynoing as well. I know Al and Scott, but haven't been there for about two years (the time I haven't been driving a Honda, lol).

As for F1, it's def spendy as noted. You can easily drop $100.

My fiancee actually drove the cars. She is somewhat of a jock though (All American soccer player in high school, Captain of her D1 College team at UVM, and played semi-pro for Boston and NH). She had a great time

They also have pool tables...

Oh BTW,

I've ridden in a fellow DFHers car from ACS with the Klymenko (sp?) headwork, Endyn Rollerwaves (12:1), Skunk Mani, JDM 4-1 header, and other goodies (stock cams though). Car is fast

Thanks fellas. The $$ isnt the problem, it's the fun factor. But it seems like that's not going to be a problem at all.

ok boys and girls....i have an update for the dyno day. i just spoke to al at ACS and he said that we have to have 10 cars and the price is $50.00. this is set in stone, unless Mike can get something else (crossing fingers).

the dates that are open are as follows:
July:
-so far every saturday is open

August:
-so far only the 11 and 18 (both saturday's) are open

so if we want to get it for $50 we need to get more cars!!!!!! as of last count of all the people that showed any interest is 5 cars. we need at least 5 more.

one more thing, on August 25 ACS is having an open house. they will be having a band, food. they hopefully will have their go-cart track open.......and they be demoing their dyno. which means, some free dyno time.

please email me or im me to confirm with me if you are interested. thanks!!!

Hey,

I've been to the Open House. It's a good time, and you will probably seem some crazy HP cars, domestics and imports...

That would be a good H-T or DFH meet

Take care,

I live in New York, and in the Bridgewater MA area. I'd be up for a dyno or two just to see what my POS puts down. Email me.

O1R - I can do the Aug 11 date. I'm already booked for the other dates.

RE: F1Boston. The way to make your time there cost effective is to join a race league. It's still pricey, but you get way more track time for your $ than if you went on a Fri/Sat night. In addition, the competition is ferocious in the leagues - so you'll quickly learn how good or bad you are.

I race in a Sunday morning league (8am), that meets every other week. It's $140 for one hour and runs the combined tracks (rain or shine - so you can imagine it gets pretty wild when it's wet [the track connectors are open]). You will see speeds of 45 mph. You will get airborne as you crest the hill on Track 1.

There are also endurance races that involve pit strategies/fueling strategies. Cool stuff. A buddy and I finished 3rd in a 90 minute endurance race a couple of weeks ago.
