Viper/Clifford/Tracking system
I know there are quite a few questions, but this place always seems to be helpfull. Any help would be really appreciated! I'm wondering ... what do you all think of:
1. Viper 600 alarms. (and how much $ are they usually?)
2. comparable Clifford alarms -ones that are similar in price to the Viper, maybe a little more expensive - how do they compare in quality to the Viper, even though both made by the same larger company? (and how much $ are they usually?)
3. Tracking systems like LOJACK. Which are the best, that do NOT require a monthly fee? How much does Lojack usually cost?
Thanks a lot,
Jon

Save your money the lo jack systems are not worth it at all .. best way to stop someone from stealing the car is to interrupt the power going to the distributor cap in a location that only you know about along with a starter kill on the startwe wire that usually come with the alarms ... as for the Viper alarm it depends on what features you opt to get with it .. such as keyless, dome light super., trunk, hoodpin, windows roll, etc ... and Clifford and Viper are both owned and manufactured by DEI. For a basic DEI alarm installed with keyless you are gonna be about 229.99 on average, and for a keyless/start/alarm you will be about 379.99 depending on the type of vehicle and additional parts required for install/bypass of the factory security features.
Lowjack cost around 700 to 1200 installed and it's a 1 time few, and they track it for you, a good investment down for my civic.
But for Alarms I really push units with pager or Cliffort Vangurds, there not much anything better then a Vangurd for the price, it's almost unstealable, look out for tow turcks and fork lifts tho, thats about your only thing that would be able to steal it.
The VanGurd, even if the theift pull your horn, it's still going off due to the backup batter. It has alot more sensors then your stander Viper or Crimestoper Alarm.
