Default help on narrowing down choices

hey, im a yound kid...16, i was thinkin about gettin a bike asap if i can sell my 86.5 (87) supra when i get the new engine in and i just read another post about someones height nad what bike would fit him and that got me wonderin. i have really done alot of looking into bikes yet cuz im tryin to fix my supra but id like to get one next. im 160 lbs and 5'10", i say that cuz of height of bikes and stuff. my background with bikes is i used to dirtbike for like 2 years on hondas. Anyone have any suggestions of what might fit me or be suitable for my experience and stuff. a couple bikes ive been eyein are the gsx-r, cbr or some kawasaki. yes im a noob in bikes so i might have said something wrong when it came to the names so dont get all offensive or talk sh*t like they do if u mess a word up in the rest of HT. thx

search is the key

this has been talked about again and again

go get yourself a 250cc or max 500cc (IMO)
it also depends what you are wanting to do with the bike, and your personality.

You mention that you've got two years experience on dirt bikes. Is this recently, or awhile ago? Either way, you might want to look into the MSF classes. The experience you've gained on dirtbikes will definitely help, but riding on the street has some differences than on dirt tracks.

Do you have friends with bikes? If so, try sitting on their bikes and seeing how well you fit on them. I think you will be fine, heightwise, with almost any bike out there. My suggestion would be a Honda CBR600F2 or F3. But then again, I'm biased (Integra, Odyssey, and the bike...all Hondas). Another good bike is the Yamaha FZR600. They've been around for awhile, so there's lots of extra parts out there.

Yeah what he said. Start out on something you won't care about if your wreck. Cause more likely than not, you're gonna atleast drop the bike in a parking lot or something (happens to everyone now and then ). Don't spend a whole lot on your first bike, get the hang of riding a street bike first. Then go from there get a newer 600 and if when you feel ready you can jump up to something bigger (gsxr750/1000, R1, zx7/9R)

I'm your exact height/weight. You'd probably like a kawasaki ex500/500r

i sold my bike beginning of 9th grade (in 10th now) for money towards my car now so it was like a year ago. a few of my freinds have bikes (r6, gsx-r, some kawasaki) so ill talk to them and try em out a little. as for my style/personality , im very aggresive on the freeway but pretty calm on city/neighborhood streets
