Default Exhaust etc on my new lude... Suggestions?

Alright... Got my Lude on Monday, Cinco De Mayo!!! Hell yeah. Dark Green... 73k miles & hella-clean! Now its time to do some dirty work...

Alright, the owner b4 me left everything stock but some accel plug wires and a K&N intake... I am starting with the easy stuff... some pedals, a shift ****, and new whitebeam headlights (HID is way to much $$$). Now, should I buy a CAI and thermal wrap, or just leave my intake the way it is? Give me a shout... lates

buy a full catback instead, you already have an intake. get the greddy or apex. anyways you dont have to worry about hydrolocking. Peace, and congrats by the way

well, to be honest, i wouldnt say that pedals and a shift **** are considered "dirty work." anyway i agree with you on the hid's.. i suggest sylvania silverstars. i don't think you'll really benefit by wrapping your header. the K&N does allow some pretty decent air flow, but a cai might help you out a little more in that department. Consider a cat-back system with a test pipe or some suspension components (upper strut-bar, springs/shocks, or coilovers). Enjoy your lude.

cool... thanks for the replys... I want to get the most power out of a few bolt ons so I think im gonna go with a cai... dunno...

Ok, now... Im looking at the Tanabe Racing Medalion cat-back... I like the not-so-ricey sound even though it is a bit loud... i wanna get some pulleys to... any suggestions?... later...

BTW... I was reffering to exhaust and inake when I said "dirty work"...heh.

What are you're plans for the car?
Do you plan to Street race it, (which is bad)?
Do you plan on Auto-xing?
Do you plan on Road Racing?
Do you plan on it being a daily driver?

I would like to auto-x but mostly its gonna be a daily driver, street racing (we have abandoned roads near us that we use... so its not that bad...), and just to show off...heh

if you plan to daily drive it and autoX every now and again, i say get a thermal classic system and some Tein Basic damper system coilovers, just came out but ive read a few good reviews about them.

Ehh I don't know do reseach and figure it out for yourself, if you auto-x get some good springs with some increase spring rate, after mrk shock 16" wheel; azenis, Intake, header, exhaust, and a VAFC.
As far as apperence **** goes don't get anything. once you begin to race competive, you'll realize how little that suff matter. But if it make you feel better then by all means get it. (I did subtle stuff like a lip, rear OEM spoiler)

16 inch light weight wheels (a bit wider than stock), intake, header, exhasut, test pipe, springs shocks, strut bars, anti-sway bars...and for alittle more power, bump up the compression and get some cams and cam gears. also get a VAFC and tune i at a dyno or get a hondata

Well this might be to much dirty work but you could add some stickers and possibly windshield washer l.e.ds they add a lot of power.

98' prelude ... must feel awesome...just like getting drunk you just kept doing it cause it felt right till you over did it... this statement refering to RICE-ing out your lude...first of all change your oil since you dont kn0w the previous owner personally(unless you do) 2nd - get a compression test to make sure everything is in tip-top-shape. 3rd for some basic bolt on's and staying in a pretty broad set of mods, leaving space to do head work for n/a or even bo0st for FI... i would have to say AEM cai...dont need to wrap it...then get a nice cat-back exhaust...i have the evolution and its great...without the catalytic its really ricey but i like it ...4th throw on some headers...DC if you must...but a nice set of Mugen headers would hit the spot like a *****!!! get me? next to sum up the i/h/e bust out with a V-AFC and get some dyno time...this alone will get your grin twice as huge as it was when you first drove the prelude, after you said "its mine"! so in other words your basic package of beggining mods would have to be :
i/h/e/vafc/coil-overs or springs/ tune it and later dress up the car a little bit so your have some SHOW and GO and then after that, if you want to go N/A or Bo0st you can get a little more serious...and remember just cause you have an x-tra $200 in your pocket, dont go out and waste it on you 3rd or 4th shift kn0b...or even your 9th pair of pedals...get me?... SAVE it pays off when you run people on the streets...and believe me the Prelude is a bad *****
