Thinking about a Type-S...
Im selling my GSR (hopefully), and I'm torn between a 2g mitsu GSX and a new K20A2 RSX. Im sure there are many on this board who went from a GSR to either of these cars, and I like to hear some of your experiences. (Specifically the DC2 to DC5).

Newer is better.
I say take the one that is more suitable to your liking. You might like the AWD over the FWD so drive them both. The Acura is more reliable than the Chyslerbishi.

I would have to recommend the type S. This motor has proven what it can do and there are still things that have not been discovered in the motor. Plus the car is very reliable. A couple of my friends have the gsx and have complained about constant tranny problems occuring. Best thing is to test drive them both and go from there. Good luck.

Im pretty impressed with the hp and tq gains with an intake and even the hondata reflash. Stock for stock, it seems like a type s lines up with a gsx for performance...

Thanks for the feedback. I just test drove a nice type s today, very similar power band to my gsr I think. I also drove an 02 vr6 which I actually liked a lot. Lots of torque but not quite as stylish as the Type S... Arg, such tough choices!
consider other options as well.
what about the wrx. what about the neon srt-4? mazdaspeed protoge?
check a couple other options out, you know. make sure you are completely happy with the RSX b4 buying it.

I think if you went over to DSMTuners.com you would get a response heavily sided towards the GSX.
BUT being totally unbiased, I think it really comes down to what you want out of the car.
What do you want?

lol. its honda-tech. so your obviously going to get overwhelming votes for the type-S
but me myself. i see more potential out of a k20. so i vote type S. plus if u need any further convincing. i have a video of a dumbass with a new GSX trying to race a brand new m3. and he blew his motor going into 2nd or something

AWD is great, but it doesn't do **** when your car is broken down. When I see you on the side of the road I'll be sure to honk and laugh at your stupid ***.

Reliability issues are blown WAY out of proportion...way out. The other thing that is never really taken into account is the fact that these cars can make 350-400 hp at the drop of a hat. Very easy to do. When you combine that with AWD, 3200lb curb weight and 95% of the drivers young guys who don't know any better dropping the clutch at every light...yes it spells breakage.
What do you think would happen if you made your car 3200lbs, put 400whp down, and had zero wheelspin? I'm willing to bet you would break a lot quicker.
Or you get young guys buying 13 year old 100,000+ mile cars, performing NO maintenance, beating the crap out of them and then crying when they have to replace parts. DUH!
I'm not here to talk smack but comments like yours are pretty lame. Sounds like a low power ricer response to me. No different than a "I'll f*ck you in the twisties yO" comment.
When you can take YOUR car, put $775 into it like I did, and go click off 12.50's all day at 109mph cutting 1.6 60's on the old *** dry rotted tires you drove up on...come talk to me. And for the record my car hasn't broken in over a year of constant beating.
The AWD DSM's are capable cars. Honda's can be just as capable but IMHO require a bit more work to get there. That doesn't in my mind make them any worse, it's just a fact. Open your mind.
P.S. I'm here because I'm considering an RSX as my next project car like my old 450hp Nissan SE-R but people like you are making me wonder if I want to be a part of this "community". Hopefully some people will prove me wrong in this area.

I don't know if you know this or not, but guys have made 500whp on the stock 6 bolt (First gen) 4G63 engine and beat them to death with no failure.
Motors blow. I watched a Honda puke the bottom end out running a big hit of nitrous. Does that mean Honda's can't make power?

Hey jay, i'm over at dsmtuners, i'm xcelr8n, guys I own a 92 talon AWD, and I beat down stock rsx type s all day long. But i have a boost controller, and a exhaust, but if i could i would probably trade it for a new rsx s, but obviously its worth 20g's more. I say drive them both, and decide, the rsx will probably be more reliable, but if your into heavy modifications, it will fall behind the gsx.
