I have been looking for some suspension upgrades for my crx...I would like to lower it and get better handling, but without wearing to tires, or getting a too horribly ride...i've been quoted getting skunk2 coils, tokico blues, and a front camber kit for around $750. Too much? I don't even know what sort of drop I would want...what heights have you guys had good luck with?

 

If your worried about the ride, then just get some
Eibach Prokit's and Tokico blues. I'm pretty sure you
don't have to worry about the alignment. But the only
way to be sure is to get one done after that setup.
I think you can find that setup for about 500.

Well. its a

1990 CRX Si w/1.6 SOHC Vtec Hybrid,
2.25" stainless catback,
intake,
header,
v-afc controller,
tuned to run.

it is pretty much quick, so im looking into handling and looks...I love the lower look, but I don't want to slam it and cause trouble to the car...I'd also just like to have it handle a little better. It is a street car, I don't plan to auto-x it, only run 1/8th miles and what not. My only concern is doing more harm than good, I dont have my heart particularly set on anything, im just trying to investigate some mods.

 

I have eibach prokit springs and konis. I had an ailgment done after and even with stock size rims (primax racing 14") it looks llowered but not slammed, the front is down a little and the rear a little more then the front to line the car up perfectly. haven't noticed any unusal tire wear.

I have had 3 modded Hondas. These R good ideas 4 a low, but not oil pan busting set-up: 1-1.5" springs by HR,Suspension Techniques, or Eibach. I prefer 1" cuz its not so low that U need a camber kit-U will if U go lower than 1". Too much negative camber WILL wear a patch on the innermost side of UR tires. For upper strut bar, TypeR, Neuspeed, or Spoon. solid welds make it stiffer which helps U steer easier. A cheap rear upper strut is ok to help the back end. I put a Integra TypeR rear lower swaybar onto my '90 LS teg, but not sure if it will fit ur crx. I believe hybrid-honda.perf.org has an article on such a swap coming soon. Or a Suspension Techniques rear sway bar would help rear out a lot $140-$170 i think- call Summitt.. exclnt customer srvc & shipping is reasonable. Now 4 shocks: U will want adjustable struts in the front, trust me, to make the front stiff, Tokico illuminas $110 to $140/each, or Koni's are better @ slightly more $, I put some KYB AGX-4 way adjustable in front-$85 to $105 good quality. Non adjustable for the rear will run anywhere from $65 to $85 like the Tokico blues or KYB . Party on dude
