Default no clutch pressure on new ZC?

OK. the motor/trans. is out of the car. I put a new Si clutch on it( using Si trans. and flywheel). When I first put it together the release arm(?) on the trans. had alot of pressure, you couldn't pull it by hand, atleast not easily. well i put it all in the car, went to start it, pushed the clutch a couple times and the last time I pushed it there was a noise. kinda like thunk, and I had no clutch pressure. after alot of trouble pulling the trans. itself, I yanked everything out. nothing looks wrong. Does anybody have any ideas? please I need my car back. oh yeah, it's an 89 DX with a jap-ZC.

Did you install the clutch disc in the correct direction? I mean, one side needs to face out and one side in...

if when you were putting the clutch in, you messed with the spring inside the tranny on the release arm, im willing to bet you put it in wrong (because i did, and pedal sank right to the floor just like you described in about 10 mins after install)

DID you check the cable where it attaches to the clutch pedal underneath the DASH.

those break sometimes. or the clutch cable itself by the lever.
